The fourthly-generation 2017 Kia Rio small hatch has arrived on Aussie shores, promising enhanced cod and handling, improved safety and wide-cut connectivity.
Sporting a thoroughly revised draft, the Rio is defined by straight lines and plane surfacing, giving the car a more suppurate and European character than its antecedent.
The car’s latest evolution of Kia’s ‘tiger-wind’ grille is now thinner in height and wider athwart the front, with a gloss dusky grille cover and U-shaped LED day blindness running lights on the Si and SLi.
The rear of the car is now bounteous upright and features thinner, many sculpted rear lamps with pointer-shaped LED light signature (SLi just).
Overall, the new Rio is 15mm longer than its forerunner at 4,065mm in length, 5mm lower (now 1,450mm gangling) and sits on a 10mm longer wheelbase (up to 2,580mm).
Core, there is a 7-inch high-steadfastness touchscreen (with sat-nav on the Si and SLi) that is touchstone on all variants, while the driver-adjusted centre console features less buttons with more bioengineering, concave switches and rotator dials under to control the heating and ventilation.
The Rio propose three grades of interior well-ordered in a black one-tone treatment. For S consumer the seats are trimmed in woven Tricot Chiefly while Si buyers will get a standout raised Tricot cloth treatment. At the top of the gamut the SLi offers a premium treatment with manufactured leather trim.
Power Order from a single 1.4-liter MPI engine with 74kW and 133Nm of torsion paired with a proven 4-rapidity automatic in the Si and SLi grades and 6-speed exercise or automatic in the S model.
The new model is usable with keyless entry (all trims), precipitate-sensing windscreen wipers (SLi), self-governing headlamps, Cruise Control (Si and SLi), back part parking sensors and rear conception camera (all grades).
On the safety strawman, Anti-lock Braking, Electronic Brakeforce Parceling out, Emergency Brake Assist, Electronic Steadiness Control with Traction Controller, Vehicle Stability Management Process, Hill Start Assist, Nautical stern view camera with energizing parking guidelines, reverse parking sensors, tercet child restraint anchor speck (two ISOFIX) and five three-end seatbelts are all standard.
