Getty – Contributor Russian diplomats speak with journalists after landing in Moscow this evening
The group were ferried out of Britain today as tensions build between the UK and the Kremlin.
Last Wednesday, Theresa May gave two dozen so-called diplomats a week to quit the country in revenge for the attempted hit on Sergei Skripal.
Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko said: “Today we bid farewell to our colleagues heading home after the hostile move of the UK Government, and wish them all the best in their careers.
“I would like to thank them on behalf of the President. We are proud of you.”
