Continent’s leading independent vehicle protection advocate, ANCAP has rated the common Ford Mustang a concerning 2 champion ANCAP safety rating.
“This by-product is simply shocking for such a new designed and popular model,” aforementioned ANCAP Chief Executive Policeman, Mr James Goodwin.
“The shelter of adult occupants, child inhabitant and the ability to avoid a crash all figure the basis of our ratings and the Mustang settle short in each of these room,”
“There’s strong consumer apprehensiveness that a new vehicle will be 5 celestial and a sports car is no different – safety should on no account be compromised,” he said.
The Ford Mustang assessing is limited to 2 stars due to its poor execution in three of the four areas of judgement – Adult Occupant Protection, Baby Occupant Protection and Safety Comfort. The poorest performing area of judgement was Safety Assist with the Mustang grading 2 points out of a possible 12 speck (16%).
“It’s disappointing speed utility systems, lane support set, autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning and rear ass belt reminders are all missing from the Mustang,” Mr Goodwin aforementioned.
“Of concern, the full breadth frontal test showed a hazard of serious head, chest and leg hurt for the rear passenger. There was and insufficient inflation of both the utility and front passenger airbags in the head-on offset test which allowed the Chauffeur’s head to contact the steering trundle and the passenger’s head to contact the fascia,”
“The driver’s door open in the pole test, and whiplash security for rear-end collisions was marginal,”
“This judgment is not intended to shock or surprise – it but presents the safety of this car fronting that of its contemporary competitors,”
“This valuation should not come as a surprise to Fording as we maintain strong relationships with container brands and they are informed on the elaborating of our protocols,”
“I would encourage Crossing to swiftly introduce design and creation changes to improve its safety execution,” Mr Goodwin added.
