Black Panther reigns over the box office for fifth straight weekend with $27 million, boosting its global haul to almost $1.2 billion

The King of Wakanda’s reign is mighty.

Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, has become the first film since 2009’s Avatar to top the weekend box office for five straight weekends.

The blockbuster grossed $27 million in ticket sales over the weekend, pushing its domestic haul to $605.4 million and its global haul to more than $1.1 billion, according to studio estimates on Sunday.
