But the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s It is on course to overhaul The Exorcist as the highest grossing horror movie of all time in the US.
However the title is somewhat controversial, as the film’s distributors Warner Bros claim box office smashes Jaws, Sixth Sense and I Am Legend are not eligible for the title as they are ‘hybrid’ rather than true horror films.
