The Northern Irishman has been nominated for five Oscars, and is one of only eight people to have ever been nominated for best Actor and Best Director for the same film: 1989’s Henry V.
Renowned for bringing William Shakespeare’s works to the big screen, he has also directed and or stared in Othello, Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing.
His resume includes plenty of blockbusters too, starring in Valkyrie, Dunkirk, and Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, as well as directing Marvel’s Thor.
His upcoming project he also directs and stars as Hercule Poirot in the latest adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder On The Orient Express.
