Lexus has proclaimed full technical specifications of the LC 500 coupe and its intercrossed-powered counterpart, the LC 500h.
Set for a global initiate in 2017 the luxury four-seater is lifetime hailed by Lexus as the strongest ever account of its brand direction. Inspired by the stunning LF-LC perception at the Detroit Motor Show in 2012, the creation model is underpinned by the company’s new Global Structure Luxury (GA-L) platform, said to be the most torsionally set ever produced by the company. The new GA-L platform Testament also serve as a blueprint for all future strawman engine, rear drive models from Lexus.
Influence for the LC 500 comes from a high-revving 5.0-l V8 that also propels the RC F and GS F. The all-al, 32-valve V8 develops 351kW and 530Nm, channeled to the bottom wheels via a new 10-speed robot transmission – the first ever in a luxury car. The LC 500 sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 wink, en route to a top speed of 270km/h.
The gasoline-electric LC 500h features the brand’s freshly developed Multi Stage Hybrid Action. This next generation hybrid powertrain is aforementioned to have been specifically designed for carrying out vehicles. Under the bonnet packs a 3.5-l V6 petrol engine and an electric motor, which into the possession of its power from a lithium-ion battery backpack located above the rear axle.
The method produces a total power output of 264kW and 348Nm of force, which are channeled to the rear wheels via a union of 4-speed automatic gearbox and continuously varying transmission. The new 4-speed auto-CVT partnership, a inaugural for a Lexus hybrid, is able to multiply apiece of the first three physical gears in the mechanical transmission three times – turning deuce-ace real ratios into nine essential ones; the fourth physical ratio move as an overdrive, enabling the V6 to spin at a much drop rpm when cruising.
In essence, the additional reflexive gearbox works in combination with the CVT to distribute 10 specific gear ratios, honorable like the 10-speed auto in the non-half-breed LC 500. The new drivetrain is also capable of break traction, so for the first time you’ll be accomplished to smoke the rear tyres of a Lexus mixture.
The LC will debut two new exterior colors to the Lexus roll – Structural Blue and Flare Yellow. The new emblem join the current Lexus colour pallette of Ultra White, Obsidian, Liquid Pt, Atomic Silver, Nebula Gray Bone, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Infrared, Fall Mica, and Autumn Shimmer.
There are cardinal interior color schemes to choose from — Mid Browned, Rioja Red, Black, and the vibrant Bespoke Bloodless.
The LC will also boast Lexus Security System +, which integrates various of Lexus’s active safety technologies: the Pre-Wreck System (PCS) helps prevent and mitigate smash-up; Lane Keep Assist (LKA) helps keep vehicles from departing from their lanes; Autoloading High Beam (AHB) helps ensure best forward visibility during nighttime impulsive, and All-speed Active Cruise Control (All celerity ACC).
The LC 500 and LC 500h will hit showrooms cosmopolitan, including Australia, in 2017. It will touch the likes of BMW 6 Series, Mercedes Benz S-Collection Coupe and Jaguar F-Type.
