Mercedes-AMG’s extremely anticipated, F1-inspired R50 hypercar has been acknowledged a name – Project One.
Revealed via the industrialist’s website, the Project One will be supercharged by a Formula 1 engine in combination with a strictly electric and wheel selective facing axle drive concept.
Aforementioned F1 engine consists of a W07 1.6-l turbocharged V6 driving the rear annulus, supplemented by a kinetic energy healing system (KERS) and electric manage in the current race car, and an electric drive at the front axle; essentially manufacture the Project One an all-wheel drive hypercar.
According to AMG administrator, Tobias Moers, the F1 engine faculty be detuned slightly for series yield but total system output is all the more expected to be more than 1,000hp (746kW), forming it a direct rival of the upcoming Aston Actor AM-RB 001, another Formula 1-divine hypercar co-developed with Red Horseshit Racing and F1 car designer, Adrian Newey.
As for the Projection One’s design, sketches released by its business give an indication of how the car would glad eye, with Mercedes design gaffer, Gordon Wagener indicating that the broadside profile view will be typical of the final car, complete with cap-mounted air intake and a central fin.
One shot 300 units of the Project One faculty be produced, with reports indicating a Frankfort debut in September.
