- Advises the Chief, SMA and additional officials regarding the merit and inclusion of programmatic decisions involving danger to planetary protection objectives.
- In coordination with primary offices, leads interactions with COSPAR, Subject Academies, and advisory committees on wandering protection matters.
- Recommends and usher the preparation of new or revised NASA archetype and directives in accordance with accepted processes and guidelines.
