New plans to tax Facebook based on number of British users rather than tiny profits

TECH firms like Facebook and Twitter could be taxed based on the number of users they have in the country in future, rather than on their profits.

The Treasury is reviewing international tax models to see whether they are still relevant to today’s businesses.
