NHS chiefs last night signalled cuts to patient services after warning extra cash promised by the Chancellor was not enough to plug the funding gap.
Despite a £1.6billion Budget boost as well as £350million to cope with winter pressures, hospital leaders said it came to less than half of what it needs.
