PRISON sentences of a year or less are pointless and cons should serve their time in the community instead, a top jail chief will say today.
Prison Governors Association president Andrea Albutt will tell her annual conference that the 85,375 prisoners in England and Wales must be reduced because jails are “full to bursting”.
