RAF Typhoon jets scrambled to intercept Russian military aircraft headed straight for Scotland

TWO RAF fighter jets were scrambled to head off a pair of Russian military planes heading  for Scotland.

The Typhoons took off from Lossiemouth on Wednesday after the aircraft approached the UK's so-called "area of interest."
