The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have narrowed the field down to 70 songs to be considered for nomination in the best original song category.
Among the contenders are some of pop’s biggest names, including Taylor Swift’s song I Don’t Wanna Live Forever from the less than critically acclaimed S&M sequel Fifty Shades Darker.
Mariah Carey is also in the running for a nomination for her song The Star for the Christian animated film of the same name.
