Revenge is a dish best served cold – or on the silver screen.

On Friday, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez revealed in a detailed statement to Variety that he was aware of ex-girlfriend Rose McGowan’s accusations producer Harvey Weinstein had raped her – and intentionally cast her in a fierce role in the Weinstein-produced 2007 motion picture Grindhouse as a slight to the producer after she told him ‘she was blacklisted from even auditioning for any Weinstein movies.’

The San Antonio, Texas native, 49, said, ‘I told Rose that she was not blacklisted from MY movies and that Harvey couldn’t tell me who to cast … and that if she was interested, I would write her a BAD A** character and make her one of the leads’ in the retro horror film he directed with Quentin Tarantino.
