The statue Sly bought was being kept at the now-defunct San Diego Hall of Champions, but the museum closed its doors this past summer. The valuable piece of movie memorabilia was subsequently put on sale by the auctioneer SCP Auctions.
A company rep told the outlet that a customer in Los Angeles purchased the statue, which was prominently displayed in the background of a Christmas Day shot Stallone took with pal Arnold Schwarzenegger and shared on on Instagram.
‘Well look who [dropped] by on Christmas!’ Stallone wrote. ‘@schwarzenegger always fills the room with positive energy!’
In the shot, Stallone wore a white collared button-up shirt with black pants, while Schwarzenegger went festive with a red sweater with black pants.
The New York native, who’s currently working on the sequels to Creed and Escape Plan, also shared a shot he took with his family in front of the Christmas tree in their home. He posed with wife Jennifer Flavin and daughters Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet.
