Theresa May will hold Cabinet talks on Brexit soon
Downing Street yesterday was forced to reveal talks would take place by the end of the year after Philip Hammond said no discussion had yet been held.
He told MPs on the Treasury select committee: “We are not yet at that stage and it would have been premature to have that discussion before we reach that stage.”
The revelation left MPs open mouthed. But the Sun revealed three months ago that initial conversations between the Cabinet had failed to resolve what the UK’s “end state” for Brexit should be.
At the time, Cabinet ministers moaned that Theresa May was not allowing any time to “debate this stuff”.
