Theresa May wins crushing victory in landmark Brexit battle despite Jeremy Corbyn’s bid to block EU withdrawal bill

THERESA May has won a vital Brexit battle that "backs the will of the British people" and left Jeremy Corbyn nursing a bruising loss.

Labour's bid to block the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill was defeated by 318 votes to 296 and a later vote to give it a second reading passed by a majority 36.
