Top universities should drop entrance grades ‘to help poorest pupils’

TOP universities should drop entrance requirements by two A-level grades to get more of the poorest pupils in, a groundbreaking report says.

The study suggests allowing students on free school meals to get in with BBC grades instead of ABB in their A levels could see their numbers rise by 50 per cent.
