Airbus A380 want towing? Give Porsche a bell. In its latest PR exercise, the German automaker has teamed up with Air France to tow the airliner’s A380 immense jet using its popular Cayenne SUV, in the growth setting a world record.
The A380 is one of the maximal aircrafts in the world, tipping the imbrication at 285 metric tons. Contempt its mammoth size, the Cayenne was ingenious to tow the jumbo jet for a distance of 42 meters at the Physicist de Gaulle airport in France.
The action was first accomplished using a Key S Diesel equipped with a 4.1-liter twin-turbo diesel V8 producing 283kW and 850Nm force. It was then repeated with a Capsicum Turbo S, which featured a 4.8-l twin-turbo V8 petrol delivering 419kW and 750Nm of torsion for good measure.
Both conveyance were entirely stock, apart from for a special attachment for the standard tow bar. And to testify that they were intact in the endeavour, both cars were impelled back to London where they were at driven from.
